Overview

Nepali citizens require a tourist visa (L-visa) to visit China. Applications must be submitted in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) in Kathmandu, located at Rising Mall, Durbar Marg. Crucially, the Chinese government has waived the visa fee for Nepali citizens — only the CVASC service fee of NPR 2,700 (regular, 4 working days) applies. Biometrics are mandatory and must be given in person. Note: travel to Tibet requires an additional Tibet Travel Permit.
