Overview
Nepali citizens require a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa (tourist/business) to visit the United States. Nepal is not part of the US Visa Waiver Program. Since January 2026, Nepal was added to the US visa bond list — eligible Nepali applicants may be required to post a refundable cash bond of USD 5,000, USD 10,000, or USD 15,000 (set by the consular officer at the interview) as a condition of visa issuance. The bond is refunded upon timely departure. The visa fee is USD 185 (non-refundable), and processing takes approximately 35 days after the interview.
